About Dr. Colleen Luna
Board-Eligible Dermatologist
Dr. Luna was raised on a small family farm in western Minnesota. She earned her bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Creighton University in Nebraska before pursuing her medical education at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. There, she also completed a dual degree program, obtaining a Master of Public Health with a focus on expanding the rural physician workforce and improving access to care.
During her final year of medical school, Dr. Luna was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in recognition of her academic excellence, as well as the Gold Humanism Honor Society for her commitment to compassionate care and community service.
She completed both her transitional year internship and dermatology residency at the
Mayo Clinic in Arizona, where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. Dr. Luna is a board-eligible dermatologist.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Luna enjoys exploring Arizona’s hiking trails and discovering new restaurants in the Phoenix area with her husband, Ruben, and their corgi, Stubbs. As she settles into life as an Arizonan, she has taken up golf and pickleball. She is thrilled to join Phoenix Surgical Dermatology Group as a medical dermatologist and looks forward to caring for you soon.
