Gap Year Clinical Experience Program for Pre-Med Students

Are you planning a gap year before applying to medical, PA, or nursing school? At Phoenix Surgical Dermatology Group (PSDG), we offer a unique, paid opportunity for recent college graduates to gain hands-on clinical experience. As a full-time medical assistant, you'll work directly with our dermatologists and advanced practice providers, develop valuable clinical skills, and receive on-the-job training—no certification or prior experience required.



This program is designed to strengthen your application, deepen your understanding of patient care, and offer real-world insight into the medical field. Whether you're already committed to a career in healthcare or still exploring your path, this immersive experience is a valuable step forward.

A Launchpad for Future Healthcare Professionals

Participants in our program become integral members of our clinical team. You’ll assist in patient care, observe procedures, and receive mentorship from experienced MDs, PAs, and CMAs. Past gap year team members have gone on to attend top institutions such as Johns Hopkins, Stanford, the University of Illinois–Chicago, and Midwestern University—entering fields including medicine, physician assistant studies, and advanced nursing.
