Lumenis UltraPulse CO2 Laser

At Phoenix Surgical Dermatology Group, we are proud to offer ablative laser resurfacing using the Lumenis UltraPulse CO2 laser.

What is the UltraPulse CO2 laser?

The UltraPulse CO2 laser is an energy-based device  that emits a beam of light that removes the top layer of skin and heats the second layer of skin. The results include immediate and significant skin tightening. It is one of the most versatile lasers available and can be used to treat several skin conditions on the face and body including but not limited to:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun damage
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Acne scars
  • Benign growths (sebaceous hyperplasia, seborrheic keratosis, pearly penile papules, dermatosis papulosa nigra).

The UltraPulse is considered an ablative laser that treats a broad range of conditions by gently removing all or part of the skin. The removal of skin then triggers the body’s natural healing processes to replace the damaged skin with new and healthy skin. The UltraPulse CO2 is considered to be the “Gold Standard” for ablative laser resurfacing treatments.

Who should get the CO2 laser treatment?

The UltraPulse CO2 laser is great for those patients who have severe sun damage, deeper wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture, as well as acne scars. It offers the benefits of skin tightening, a smooth and even complexion, and a radiant glow with just one session.

How long does it take to see results from CO2 laser?

Patients will see results continuously over several months, with full results seen 3-6 months after treatment.

Is CO2 laser painful?

The CO2 is the most invasive laser treatment as the goal is dramatic improvement in fine lines, deep wrinkles, sun damage, and scarring. Patients are typically comfortable throughout the whole procedure and the sensation is often referred to as a “pins and needles” sensation.

At Phoenix Surgical Dermatology Group, CO2 laser resurfacing using the Lumenis UltraPulse laser is used for many purposes in the trained hands of Dr. Ramin Fathi a board-certified dermatologist. Call to schedule an appointment.
